A woman wanted on murder charges in connection to a shooting in May in Dayton is in the Montgomery County Jail on a $1 million bond.

Kenyatta Davonna Miliner, 26, of Dayton, was indicted on two counts of murder and two of felonious assault, each of which includes three-year gun specifications.

The charges stem from the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Shareef Tillman on May 23, 2020, at an apartment in the 600 block of Summit Square Drive.

Dayton police detective Zachariah Hastings said in July that the incident started as a fight between two women in the apartment parking lot. He said a video of the shooting shows a woman exiting the apartment and firing a round into the air.

Hastings said the video showed the gun appearing to malfunction, a man clearing the malfunction, then the woman taking back the gun and firing into the crowd.

Tillman was shot in the back and died at the scene.

Miliner’s next court date is scheduled for Thursday, according to jail records.
