While movie theaters throughout the country are still closed to the public due to the coronavirus pandemic, many local drive-ins are beginning to reopen to satisfy the public’s need for popcorn and cinema. Just a few weeks ago, the Dixie Twin Drive-In theater in Dayton reopened to the masses, and the response of the people has perhaps prompted other local drive-in theaters to open to the public as soon as possible. The latest drive-in theater answering this call is Melody 49 Drive-In, located in Brookville.

Though the opening day for the drive-in was originally scheduled to take place on Friday, May 22, Melody 49 Drive-In announced that it would be moving the opening date to this Friday, May 29, due to technical difficulties.

Since 1966, the drive-in has been welcoming guests into its outdoor facility that houses two screens and a concession stand that serves popcorn and other snacks.
