GCP&T Director Jon Dobney says the event will begin the process of re-opening Caesar’s Ford Park to the public with sunrise to sunset hours like other Greene County Parks.

The demolition of the former Blue Jacket amphitheater that began in 2017 at Caesar’s Ford Park is complete. The large production tower, seats, supporting prop buildings and hazards have been removed.
“We will be adding primitive camping, multi-use trails, renovating the amphitheater area and more,” Dobney added.

The Greene County Horseman’s Council will be cutting new bridle trails in both Caesar’s Ford Park and the adjacent Caesar’s Ford Reserve in the coming weeks.

GCP&T is currently working on plans for the site, including commemorative signage that reflects the former production. The sign includes the history of The Caesar’s Ford Park Outdoor Drama Amphitheater and photographs of the production.

The Caesar’s Ford Summer Fest will be held from noon to 9 p.m. on June 9. Free family entertainment includes a variety of food trucks, vendor products and bouncy houses.
Bluegrass music begins at 6 p.m., featuring Rock Island Plow Company and The Cleverly’s. Fireworks by Rozzi’s begin at 9 p.m.
