Dayton restaurant offers drunken noodles, curry that won’t break the bank

Time4Noodle, which opened at 4622 Brandt Pike (Ohio 201) in the Cloud Park Plaza in early 2017, has a menu filled with curry, noodles and rice entrees spiced to your desired level.

If that’s not enough spice for you, there are seasonings on the table.

During our visit on a recent Saturday afternoon, the restaurant’s staff was hopping with Door Dash orders.

Despite being busy, the friendly chef took time from her kitchen duties to greet us and other customers.

There are two dining rooms, one with the Time4Noodle logo painted on a wood wall. The other room’s green wall is decorated with Thai scenery.

Nature-scene screens cover the overhead fluorescent lighting panels.

“Obstacles are Opportunities,” in disguise, a saying on the wall reads.

We did a little research before we arrived and knew that the drunken noodles ($9.95) were a good way to go.

Never one to pass up curry, my lunch companion went for the yellow curry ($10.50).

While waiting for our entrees, we wolfed down the fried appetizer combo: two spring rolls, two money bags (minced chicken in rice paper); two crab Rangoon; two pot stickers and two shrimp blankets.

Of the appetizers, the shrimp blankets were by far my favorite. The marinated shrimp was plump and juicy despite being deep fried.

A large portion of drunken noodles (Pad Kee Mao) arrived at the table packed with pork, fried egg, bell peppers, bamboo shoots, tomato and broccoli.

The noodles were thick and the sauce sweet and spicy with a fresh basil taste.

The pork yellow curry served with white rice was also a treat.

Veggies swam in a spicy coconut milk broth that we wanted to drink out of the bowl.

The restaurant owned by Wendy Nawa also offers a long list of well-known dishes like Pad Thai, Pad See Ew and Thai cashew nut.

The business also sells crispy chicken, chicken wings and fish plates.

There is a small area near the counter for Thai snacks.

Nawa formerly owned Iyara Thai Restaurant, which was located at 6118 Chambersburg Road in Huber Heights
