Bengals defensive end Carlos Dunlap is impressed with Carl Lawson and Jordan Willis on the defensive line.

He’s excited to see the Bengals – a team that traditionally lets rookies learn from the sidelines – embrace playing young talent. He compares this season to when he and Geno Adkins broke in, as well as when Andy Dalton and A.J. Green led the team to the postseason as rookies.

Dunlap owns the team’s rookie sack record at 9.5. Lawson sits at 2.5 sacks four games in, and Dunlap encourages him to pursue the record, though he’s not enthralled with him breaking it.

"He can chase it. I didn't say get it," Dunlap said. "It will help all of us, so go chase it. He's just a natural pass rusher. He's so quick, elusive, plays with good leverage."

The Bengals haven’t gotten off to a great start, but they have to be excited about their rookie pass rushers. For a team that couldn’t get to the quarterback, it looks like that may be a team strength for a long time moving forward.
