Carroll girls basketball coach OHSBCA D-II coach of the year

Carroll High School girls basketball head coach Cecilia Grosselin has been chosen as the state’s Division II coach of the year by the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association.

Grosselin was awarded the honor during last weekend’s OHSBCA girls North-South All-Star Games at Denison University.

Carroll (27-3) placed runner-up in the D-II state tournament, won its second straight outright Greater Catholic League Co-Ed North title (10-0) and shared the Associated Press D-II state poll title with Poland Seminary. The Patriots began the season 15-0 and won regular-season titles in the Braggin’ Rights Classic at Cincinnati and Kings Holiday Tournament.

Toledo Rogers defeated Carroll 56-45 to win its second straight D-II state championship. Carroll also was the D-II state runner-up in 2011 under then-coach Rob Berry.
