The 2017 Gatorade Ohio High School Player of the Year for the state champion Rams, Hargrove ran for 127 yards and a touchdown last season as a true freshman at Bowling Green. He also caught 10 passes for 113 yards and a touchdown while serving as the team's primary kick returner.
In April, he tweeted his intention to leave BG, where Scot Loeffler was hired as the new head coach in November.

Though measuring just 5-foot-6, 170 pounds, Hargrove had one of the most productive high school careers in Ohio history, finishing with 7,364 rushing yards and 100 touchdowns.
That includes a 3,039-yard sophomore season that ranks ninth in state history.

Both career totals rank seventh in OHSAA history and trail only Troy's Ryan Brewer (7,656 yards, 109 touchdowns) among area players according to OHSAA records.
After a year at GCCC, Hargrove can transfer to another Division I FBS program and take the field for the 2020 season.
Hargrove is at least the fourth area player from the class of 2018 to leave his original school, joining Wayne receiver L’Christian “Blue” Smith, Xenia receiver Meechie Harris and Lakota West defensive end Xavier Peters.
Smith left Ohio State for Cincinnati while Peters landed at Kentucky after a year at Florida State.
