2018 NCAA Tournament odds: Kentucky national title odds continue to skyrocket

At the start of the 2018 NCAA Tournament, very few people were picking Kentucky to win it all. But after two strong performances, and total chaos in both the South and West regions, the Wildcats have emerged as a favorite heading into the second weekend of the tournament.

According to the latest national title odds from Bovada, Kentucky is now +700 to cut down the nets in San Antonio, up from +2800 to start the tournament and even up from +1250, which is what the Wildcats’s odds were going into the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Of course it’s worth pointing out that the Wildcats are the highest seeded team playing in Atlanta this week, as No. 1 Virginia and No. 4 Arizona lost in the first round and No. 2 Cincinnati and No. 3 Tennessee lost in the second round. The other three teams still alive in Kentucky’s region are Loyola, Nevada and Kansas State, who Kentucky faces on Thursday night at 9:37 p.m. ET.

Then in the West region, No. 1 seed Xavier and No. 2 seed North Carolina both lost on Sunday. The winner of the West region meets the winner of the South region in the Final Four. The four remaining teams in the West are Michigan, Gonzaga, Texas A&M and Florida State.

Only Duke and Villanova have better odds, as the Blue Devils are at +350 and Villanova is at +450. Gonzaga is tied with Kentucky at +700.

The Sweet 16 games begin on Thursday. The South and West regions play on Thursday while the East and Midwest regions play on Friday.
