The South Regional has been filled with upsets, leaving No. 5 seed Kentucky as the highest-ranked team in the region. The Wildcats will look to advance to the Elite Eight when they play No. 9 seed Kansas State.
Kentucky has made it to this point by beating No. 12 seed Davidson and No. 13 seed Buffalo. Buffalo was coming off a huge upset win over Arizona, but Kentucky then beat Buffalo by 20 points.
Kansas State has tournament wins over No. 8 seed Creighton and No. 16 seed UMBC, which was the first No. 16 seed to beat a No. 1 seed in NCAA Tournament history.
In the other matchup in the region, No. 11 seed Loyola is taking on No. 7 seed Nevada.
Loyola has two upset wins in the tournament — victories over No. 6 seed Miami and No. 3 seed Tennessee.
Nevada has wins over No. 10 seed Texas and No. 2 seed Cincinnati.
