Nunez committed after taking an official visit to Michigan over the weekend. He also had offers from Boston College, Texas A&M and Penn State, among other schools.
Nunez is the No. 2 New York player and the No. 62 shooting guard in the Class of 2018, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He attends St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn., and measures in at 6-foot-5, 175 pounds.
Nunez is Michigan’s fourth verbal commit in the class. The 3-star guard joins Ignas Brazdeikis, Brandon Johns and David DeJulius in a class that ranks fifth in the country, though early basketball recruiting rankings are not necessarily predictive. John Beilein’s class only trails Indiana’s in the Big Ten.
