Alabama set to host important visitors for junior day event this weekend

Welcome to  SEC Country’s daily Roll Tide-ings , a rundown of everything happening in Alabama Crimson Tide recruiting with Chris Kirschner. Today, we talk the latest with the recruits set to visit Tuscaloosa this weekend.

Alabama set to host major talent in Tuscaloosa

Alabama will have its first major junior day event this coming weekend for the Class of 2019 and select Class of 2020 recruits. A good amount of the team’s top targets in the 2019 class are expected to be on campus.

Here’s a look at who will be in town this weekend:

Alabama commits

  • Pierce Quick, 5-star tackle, Hewitt-Trussville (Trussville, Ala.) — Quick will likely take visits elsewhere throughout his recruitment, but it would be a shock to see him sign anywhere other than Alabama. He’s dreamed of playing for the Crimson Tide since he could remember. He’ll be the leader of the 2019 class.

Grad transfer possibilities

  • Gardner Minshew, former East Carolina quarterback (will visit Friday) — Minshew has emerged as Alabama’s likeliest quarterback addition in the 2018 class. He told SEC Country that the Tide 100 percent lead for his services. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him commit to Alabama this weekend.
