Arkansas baseball vs. Charlotte: Preview, TV, how to watch (March 20, 2018)

Arkansas is coming off its best week of the season entering a midweek two-game series with Charlotte. Now on a six-game winning streak, the Razorbacks have risen to No. 4 nationally in the latest Baseball America poll.

The Hogs (16-4, 3-0 SEC) are set to face the 49ers (11-8, 2-1 C-USA) Tuesday and Wednesday as they begin a 9-game road trip. The two teams will meet Tuesday at BB&T Ballpark, home of the Chicago White Sox Triple-A affiliate Charlotte Knights. They’ll meet Wednesday on Charlotte’s campus at Hayes Stadium.

Week in review

Last week the Hogs swept two games from Texas in midweek action at Baum Stadium. Arkansas stayed at home over the weekend when it began SEC play by winning all three games against Kentucky. The Wildcats entered the series ranked No. 4 in the country and had just earned a series win over fellow top-10 team Texas Teach the previous weekend.

Arkansas (16-4, 3-0) scored an average of 11.8 runs per game in the five victories last week. Junior shortstop Jax Biggers led the offensive charge, hitting .588 with 2 doubles, 2 home runs and 7 RBI during the week to earn conference player-of-the-week honors. Casey Martin was SEC freshman of the week after hitting .350 with 3 home runs in the five games. He leads the team with a .393 average, 7 home runs and 22 RBI.
