Arkansas baseball followed its best week of the season with its most disappointing loss.
The Hogs were beaten 6-3 by Charlotte on Wednesday in the first contest of an eight-game road trip. The defeat snapped a six-game winning streak, which included a series sweep of then-No. 4 Kentucky last weekend. Arkansas replaced the Wildcats as the No. 4 team nationally following those victories.
The Hogs (16-5 overall, 3-0 SEC) will now shift their focus back to SEC play with a crucial series against No. 2 Florida (19-4, 2-1) beginning Friday. The Gators took two out of three from South Carolina last week and topped Jacksonville 10-3 on Wednesday.
Arkansas last faced Florida in an SEC tournament semifinal last season. The Hogs surrendered a season-worst 16 runs in that shoutout loss. The Gators went on to win the national title with a two-game sweep of LSU in the championship series.
