Arkansas-New Mexico State recap

End of the 3rd quarter: Arkansas is in comfortable control now. A New Mexico State turnover helped things and the Razorbacks are ahead, 42-17.

Halftime: Las Vegas knows what it’s doing. Arkansas entered as a 17-point favorite and at the break, the Razorbacks are up 18. Not a lot of danger in Arkansas losing this one.

End of the 1st quarter: That was a fast-moving frame. Quarterback play on both sides is a bit shoddy with both teams throwing a pick. Arkansas’ running game is too much for a slower, smaller New Mexico State side. Hogs up, 14-0.

Pregame score predictions

Arkansas 38, New Mexico State 21

New Mexico State has enough weapons on offense to keep this one closer than Arkansas fans will be comfortable with for a good portion of the game. But, in the end, the Hogs pull away without much suspense in the fourth quarter. —  Trent Shadid

Arkansas 42, New Mexico State 21

The Hogs faithful need to see a win by at least three touchdowns to avoid further circling the drain, predicting this team’s demise. New Mexico State is offensively viable, and given Arkansas’ difficulty stopping teams this season, the Aggies will drop some points. But so will Arkansas. Three touchdowns it is. — Eric Bolin

Arkansas 42, New Mexico State 27

Arkansas struggles to slow down the Aggies offense but still shows out offensively. The Hogs get back on the winning track with a decent victory against a nonconference opponent. — John Nabors
