More recognition for Jarrett Stidham
Auburn coach Gus Malzahn says quarterback Jarrett Stidham is still “like a freshman” as far as experience is
If that’s the case, Stidham is growing up quickly. On Monday the Stephenville, Teas, native was one of two Tigers
to earn SEC Player of the Week honors, Stidham on offense and lineman Nick Coe on defense.
The came Tuesday and the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Player of the Week. These accolades come courtesy of a game in which
the sophomore was 13 of 16 for 264 yards and 2 touchdown passes in the Tigers’ 49-10 win against Mississippi State.
This honor he received Tuesday is handed out to the best offensive player each week from the state of Texas. It also means
Stidham will be in contention for an annual award given at the end of the year.
