Reliving the SEC home opener

Auburn fans were just slightly excited to host an SEC West opponent for the first time in 2017.

Jordan-Hare Stadium was striped and rocking on Saturday night, and with good reason.

Gus Malzahn’s football team put together one of its most complete, efficient performances yet against a quality Mississippi State opponent. And as Auburn rolled past the Bulldogs, future foes took beatings on televisions inside the stadium.

Ole Miss will come to the Plains after being dominated by Alabama, while LSU was defeated by Troy at home. Auburn looked like a top 10 team and will have a chance to keep climbing in the polls.

Auburn moved up to No. 12 in the AP poll and No. 13 in the Amway Coaches Poll. The Tigers continue to inch closer to the top 10.

Finishing up with the Magnolia State

Auburn will finish up with the Mississippi schools by hosting Ole Miss on the Plains this coming weekend. After that, it’s a month-long stretch of road games and a bye week for the Tigers.

Get your Jordan-Hare fix while you have the chance.
