Baker Mayfield or Trae Young? Bovada sets odd for which Sooner gets drafted higher

Two of the biggest stars in college athletics, Baker Mayfield and Trae Young, are going pro.

Young announced he’s leaving school early after one season at Oklahoma, while Mayfield just finished three seasons as the Sooners’ starting quarterback.

Both players are projected to go in the first round of their respective draft, but who will be taken higher? Vegas has you covered.

Bovada is accepting wagers on a prop bet for which Sooner will get drafted first in their respective draft.

Mayfield is the favorite to be taken higher (-400) than Young, the underdog (+250).

Young took college basketball by storm this season, but his stock fell after the Sooners’ decline in January and February. He’s still expected to be a lottery pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, which is set for June 21, but he might not be a top-10 pick, according to CBS Sports.

Mayfield’s stock is all over the place. Some anticipate the Cleveland Browns will give the 2017 Heisman Trophy winner a look for the No. 1 overall pick. If not,  he might be a top-5 pick for a team willing to trade up in the NFL Draft, which is scheduled for April 26-28.

Both Sooners had fantastic college careers, even if Young was only around for one season. No matter who goes first, Mayfield and Young seem destined to be successful in the NFL and NBA, respectively.
