Baylor P Drew Galitz out for remainder of Kansas State game with injury

Baylor punter Drew Galitz will not return to the game against Kansas State after suffering a “lower extremity” injury on the opening-kickoff, according to Baylor sports radio.

Galitz left the game after reportedly being hit on the opening kickoff, according to the radio report. Galitz was seen limping off the field before putting ice on his ankle and knee while on the sideline, according to the report.

Starting kicker Connor Martin took over Galitz’ punting duties following the injury. Martin’s first punt of the day was his first career punt in a Baylor game – a 40-yard line drive.

Galitz was the leading the Big 12 in punting at the time of the injury, according to Baylor sports radio.
