Baylor stuns No. 10 Kansas in 80-64 victory for 3rd straight win

Baylor stuns Kansas-80 64 victory-mens basketball

Baylor men’s basketball pulled off a stunner Saturday afternoon at Ferrell Center in Waco, knocking off the No. 10 Kansas Jayhawks in an 80-64 victory.

The Bears took a 10-point lead over the Jayhawks at halftime, holding Kansas to a first-half season low of 20 points. Baylor never looked back in the second half en route to the team’s first win over a ranked opponent this season.

Fans in Waco stormed the court once the final buzzer sounded. Baylor had fallen to Kansas in the last 11 meetings before emerging triumphant on Saturday.

Four Baylor players finished the day with double-digit points in the win. Bears forward Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. led the team with 19-points — a performance that was only topped by Kansas guard Devonte’ Graham, who notched 23 points in the game.

Both Baylor and college basketball fans across the nation took to social media in reacting to the improbable outcome in Waco. Here’s a glimpse of what social media users had to say after Scott Drew’s squad got the job done on home court:

Even former Baylor quarterback and 2011 Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III made sure to give the team a shout-out:

Baylor is now 15-10 on the year and 5-7 in Big 12 play. The Bears return to action vs. Texas on Monday, now riding a three-game win streak.
