As SEC teams enter the final week of conference play, some betting odds on which team will win next week’s SEC Tournament have been released.
Auburn, in a move that no one could’ve predicted back in November, is the favorite to win at 7-to-2 odds, per BetOnline. The second favorite is Tennessee, who can boast 4-to-1 odds. The Volunteers were picked to finish 13th in conference play in the preseason. Heading into the final two games, Auburn has a 1-game lead over Tennessee in the standings. But thanks to a head-to-head win by Auburn, the Tigers have the inside track to the No. 1 seed.
Kentucky, arguably the conference’s most talented team, has 5-to-1 odds. The Wildcats seemed to have righted the ship after a 4-game losing streak, as it has won its last three games, all against projected NCAA Tournament teams, by double digits. The Wildcats are tied for third in the SEC standings with Mississippi State, as both teams are 9-7 in conference play.
One of the more interesting dark horses is Missouri. The Tigers are currently on a 3-game losing streak but Missouri could be getting back Michael Porter Jr. in time for the tournament. Porter Jr., who was the No. 2 overall recruit in the 2017 recruiting cycle, was medically cleared to resume basketball activities last week. He did not play in the game against Kentucky. Missouri returns to the court on Tuesday night when it takes on Vanderbilt.
