Ohio State held its Pro Day on Thursday, with 17 former Buckeyes players competing in drills in front of representatives from all 32 teams, including two well-known head coaches.
New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick and Detroit Lions head coach Matt Patricia (Belichick’s former defensive coordinator) wanted a closer look at 10 Ohio State defensive backs and defensive lineman.
ElevenWarriors.com recorded a video of Belichick, Patricia and Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio working with defensive backs Damon Webb, Erick Smith, Denzel Ward, Trevon Forte and Elijaah Goins. Check it out below:
Belichik and Patricia also organized drills for defensive linemen Sam Hubbard, Tyquan Lewis, Jalyn Holmes, Tracy Sprinkle and Michael Hill.

“It’s a lot of motivation to go as hard as you can especially when you got guys like Matt Patricia and Bill Belichick coaching you up,” Hubbard said. “It was an incredible experience. We did some new drills we haven’t done before. It was cool.”
Ward is likely to be the first Ohio State player selected in the 2018 NFL draft, and some mock drafts have him going within the first 10 picks. Ward had 37 tackles, 2 interceptions and 15 pass deflections in 2017.
The NFL draft kicks off April 26 and runs through April 28.
