Alabama freshman Collin Sexton will be reinstated and eligible to play starting Tuesday.
Athletic director Greg Byrne released a statement on Thursday night:
“Collin Sexton will sit out of Friday’s season opener against Memphis to serve a one-game suspension for a violation of NCAA rules. He will be eligible for competition in the team’s home opener on Tuesday versus Lipscomb. We appreciate the NCAA’s efforts to reach a timely resolution on his eligibility.”
Sexton had been ruled ineligible on Tuesday after it was determined he was one of the unnamed players in the federal complaint against former Auburn assistant coach Chuck Person and former NBA referee Rashan Michel.
