CBS has West Virginia headed to San Diego for date with East Tennessee State in latest bracketology

West Virginia men’s basketball fans may have an excuse to head to sunny Southern California next month if one of the latest bracketologies holds.

CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm had the Mountaineers facing East Tennessee State in San Diego, Calif. in his latest projections on Friday morning. The matchup would pit West Virginia as the No. 4 seed in the Midwest.

Should the projection hold, the first-round action from San Diego State’s Viejas Arena will take place on Friday, March 16. Big 12 foe TCU was also slotted for the Midwest, projected to face Kentucy in Nashville, Tenn.

West Virginia is currently 18-6 overall and 7-4 in the Big 12. The Mountaineers return to action at home vs. Oklahoma State on Saturday, riding a two-game win streak entering the contest. Tip-off is set for Noon ET from WVU Coliseum.
