Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin takes shot at Louisville in postgame press conference

The Cincinnati Bearcats beat Tulsa by a score of 82-74 on Sunday, but the game was tight in the first half. Tulsa scored 47 points in the first 20 minutes of the game, which was surprising given how good the Cincinnati defense has been throughout the year.

What does this have to do with Louisville? Well, Bearcats coach Mick Cronin was asked about his team’s defense in the postgame press conference, and he used Louisville as an example of how hard it is to win in college basketball:

It’s kind of difficult to follow the logic here, as Cronin used three teams’ total losses and compared it to the Bearcats’ record. At any rate, Louisville – where Cronin was once an assistant coach – has had a difficult season by its standards. The Cardinals are likely NCAA Tournament-bound, but they’ve piled up 10 losses and haven’t looked dominant at any point.
