With UTEP coach Sean Kugler stepping down on Sunday, the coaching carousel has officially begun. And one Tennessee coach has already been named as a possible replacement for the job.
Canales is in his first season as Tennessee’s quarterbacks coach, after coming over from Utah State in the offseason.
So far this year, the quarterback position has struggled, as the Vols have struggled to consistently generate offense. The Volunteers got shut out on Saturday, even though both Tennessee quarterbacks saw reps.
The Volunteers are off this weekend and return to action on Oct. 14, when they host South Carolina.
