Colin Cowherd is back with another ridiculous take, this time on former Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops
— Herd w/Colin Cowherd (@TheHerd) October 4, 2017
When given two reasonable replacement candidates and Chip Kelly for the Tennessee job, Cowherd does not like any of the options, announcing that if he was Tennessee, he would go after Bob Stoops.
This isn’t going to happen, specifically because Bob Stoops is so far into retirement mode that he practically owns Margaritaville at this point.
Consider this — he retired just months before a football season, which is the payoff and most fun part of the year. He has done literally everything you can do in his profession, he’s had a Heisman winner, won a national championship, coached in the College Football Playoff, he’s had scores of All-Americans, and he’ll likely be a first ballot Hall of Fame coach.
Why would he put that reputation on the line to come back and rebuild another program from the ground up.
Outside of that, he’s having too much fun. He’s calling into radio shows and doing ESPN spots dressed like he’s about to have dinner in Boca Raton. He genuinely looks like he’s on vacation in Hawaii and at the phase of the stay where he contemplates moving there forever.
He’s not coming back to coaching.
