Dan Enos, who spurned Michigan, officially added to Alabama staff

Dan Enos, who joined Michigan’s coaching staff in early January, has taken a job as Alabama’s associate head coach and quarterbacks coach.

The Wolverines officially announced Enos’ hiring on Jan. 8., but by by Jan. 25 it was reported he was “expected” to leave for Alabama by Yahoo’s Pete Thamel. Enos was expected to work with Michigan’s wide receivers, though the program never formally announced his official position.

Enos spent the past three season as Arkansas’ offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach and before that was the head coach at Central Michigan from 2010-14.

Michigan announced that Jim McElwain, the former Florida head coach, had been hired as the program’s new wide receivers coach Tuesday. The Wolverines had the fourth-worst passing offense in the Big Ten in 2017, averaging 171.2 yards receiving yards per game.
