Mike Gundy came under fire from Texas Tech fans Saturday, but Stillwater’s famous Eskimo Joe’s came to his defense.
Some Texas Tech fans in Lubbock made a sign disparaging Gundy’s taste in restaurants. But the official Eskimo Joe’s Twitter account made sure to fight back against this blatant attempt at libel.

While the sign is funny, it’s not all that believable. Gundy has a mullet allegedly worth millions. He hunts turtles, doves and rattlesnakes. It’s not realistic to think a man that odd would go somewhere as generic and mainstream as Long John Silver’s.
It’s not the first time Texas Tech fans have tried to take a low blow at Gundy or Oklahoma State this week.
Some Red Raider fans said Gundy should shave his mullet. Meanwhile, other Texas Tech fans have made a shirt accusing the Cowboys of stealing the Red Raiders’ iconic hand sign.
