Saquon Barkley’s already on top of some Heisman Trophy odds lists, and ESPN’s Booger McFarland is a big fan.
McFarland called Barkley “the best running back since Barry Sanders” on The Paul Finebaum Show.

That’s high praise, but Barkley’s done all he can to earn it so far. His 7.8 yards-per-carry average ranks 15th in the country, and Barkley powered Penn State’s win over Iowa with 211 rushing yards and 305 total yards from scrimmage. Barkley returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown and threw for a score late in the game after Indiana largely bottled him up to the tune of 56 yards on 20 carries.
