Fan Sound Off: Play calling, playmaking called into question in latest Mississippi State loss

Mississippi State is feeling the effects of playing three straight games against teams ranked in the AP Top 25, dropping its Week 5 tilt against Auburn in dubious fashion.

Nick Fitzgerald threw for 157 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 56 rushing yards (pedestrian numbers for the junior quarterback) as the Bulldogs (3-2, 1-2 SEC) had no answers against the Tigers, who cruised to a 49-10 win in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The early-season glow has worn off, and now Bulldogs fans are growing impatient.

Check out what Mississippi State fans are saying about the performance and  join the conversation here.

Lana Lee:  This was embarrassing in every aspect. Expected much more from Fitz. No pass defense. Too many dropped passes
Melissa S. Graham Pinero:  Not a happy Alum tonight.
Royce Hunt:  We need playmakers that can make plays. Our defense is good but they need to not miss assignments. We have good players but they need to show up for the game.
Ronald Barnes:  Can’t win playing against the refs an you can’t win if you don’t have WRs. That’s what. Will kill State the rest of the yr . An I will go as far as to say HEVESY NEEDS to go
Jan Mitchell:  It was awful, I almost quit watching!! Love my Dawgs, but that was painful to watch!!!
Chad Mask:  Our wide receivers are like 3rd string conference USA receivers.
Woodie Suggs:  Mullen needs to give the play calling up to someone else. This offense is so predictable.
Demond Ceaser:  Play calling obvious the whole game….
John B Childress: W e got some bad calls, but they outplayed us. STILL A STATE FAN HAIL STATE
Trisha McInnis Gilliam:  Offense is very predictable.
Barrett Bruton:  Pathetic. Recruiting better pick up to take the next step or we are stuck in the 2nd tier forever.
Debbie Wilson Jones:  Not a pretty sight!
Anthony Edwards:  We never beat them at home it’s hard to beat them at home we will beat them next year I’m always a state fan til I die.
Joy Dees:  We had to play the team, the crowd, and the refs!
Flint Williamson:  WR, Safeties, and OL are very weak for an SEC team.
