After sustaining a season-ending injury in Florida’s win over Vanderbilt on Saturday, quarterback Luke Del Rio underwent surgery to repair his collarbone on Tuesday.

When the surgery was completed, Del Rio took to Twitter to give an update, while also thanking Gators fans for “their well wishes and prayers.” Del Rio also tweeted that, “Surgery went great.”

Del Rio took back over the starting quarterback job for this past weekend’s matchup with the Commodores, but he exited late in the second quarter. He was replaced by Feleipe Franks, whom he had replaced at quarterback in the second half a week prior.

While Del Rio’s season is over, it is unclear whether the redshirt junior’s career has ended as well.

The Gators continue on without Del Rio on the field this Saturday when they host LSU at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
