Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton lit a fire under his team by snatching guard PJ Savoy in a timeout

With 12:50 remaining in the game, No. 9 seed Florida State seemed dead in the water against No. 1 seed Xavier.

The Seminoles trailed by 11 points and coach Leonard Hamilton furiously called for a timeout after an Xavier 3-pointer.

As junior guard PJ Savoy appeared to yell at an assistant, Hamilton snatch him by the collar of his jersey and pulled him into the team huddle.

Florida State trimmed Xavier’s lead to 7 before the Musketeers pushed it back to 11. The Seminoles never gave up though, pushing down the stretch to take their first lead of the second half with just 1:12 remaining in the game.

With the win, Florida State moves on to battle No. 4 Gonzaga on Thursday, March 22.
