Florida State among the schools Kelvin Joseph now considering

Florida State already has four defensive backs committed in the 2018 cycle, but the Seminoles are far from being done recruiting the position as we enter the stretch run before national signing day.

In fact, the board may have expanded in the wake of 4-star corner Kelvin Joseph announcing his de-commitment from LSU. He had been committed to the hometown Tigers since February 2016.

The 6-foot-1 1/2, 191-pound Baton Rouge [La.] Scotlandville Magnet defender rates as the nation’s no. 8 corner and the No. 49 player overall per 247Sports.

According to SEC Country’s Sam Spiegelman, Alabama, Florida, Florida State and Kansas are among the main schools to watch, in addition to LSU — who Joseph said is “still his No. 1 school.”

Joseph certainly fits the profile of what Florida State likes in its corners from a size and physicality standpoint.

As Spiegelman detailed, Joseph will make his way to Tallahassee this weekend for an official visit to see the Seminoles tangle with in-state rival Miami.

The visit comes just ahead of Joseph’s plans to announce a top three next week. Alabama and LSU are firmly entrenched with two of those spots.

Joseph’s visit this weekend could go a long way toward helping Florida State earn the final spot in that list and make his recruitment one to watch moving forward.
