Former Alabama QB Greg McElroy snubs Crimson Tide in latest top 8

Greg McElroy doesn’t consider Alabama to be the nation’s top team.

Sunday is a time for releasing personal rankings, and the former Alabama quarterback joined in the fun with his latest top eight published on Twitter less than 24 hours after the Crimson Tide crushed Ole Miss 66-3 at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

His top team? Clemson.

Shortly after, McElroy explained the reasoning for placing Clemson at No. 1.

What more does the Crimson Tide need to do? Alabama has been ridiculous in recent weeks, crushing Vanderbilt 59-0 on Sept. 23 before the Ole Miss rout on Saturday.

Of course, all this is subjective. If Alabama and Clemson keep winning, both programs will have a chance to settle things on the field. So far, the Crimson Tide look like the class of the SEC. Clemson, meanwhile, looks capable of winning another ACC title.
