Ryan Anderson had a zinger for Ole Miss late Saturday night.
The former Alabama linebacker used Twitter to say the former Rebels coach was the “only hope” for Ole Miss and that it was a “damn shame” how Hugh Freeze was sent packing this summer. As you’ll remember, Freeze resigned as Ole Miss’ coach in July after scandalous details emerged about his phone habits while he led the Rebels.
Anderson, selected by the Washington Redskins in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft, saw Ole Miss give Alabama fits in recent seasons. However, that was far from the case Saturday night, when the Crimson Tide crushed the Rebels 66-3 at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
With the victory, Alabama improved to 5-0. The Crimson Tide have cruised through the early portion of their schedule, not winning by fewer than 17 points. Ole Miss, meanwhile, dropped to 2-2 with the loss in Tuscaloosa and appears to be struggling in the post-Freeze era. (To the surprise of no one.)
Anderson and others with ties to Alabama’s program enjoyed a fine Saturday, for sure.
