Albert Haynesworth is lobbying for former Tennessee quarterback Tee Martin to be the Volunteers’ next coach.
On Monday, the former Vols defensive lineman used Twitter to make his voice known in a not-so-subtle message about whom he wants to see as Tennessee’s next leader. Of course, Martin led the Vols to a national title during the 1998 season. Martin currently works as USC’s offensive coordinator.

It remains to be seen what will happen to Vols coach Butch Jones, who has received heat after Tennessee was blown out 41-0 against Georgia last Saturday at Neyland Stadium. But it’s not a good sign when a former star like Haynesworth feels compelled enough to send the message above. He also was critical during the Vols’ disaster against the Bulldogs.
Haynesworth was a standout at Tennessee before becoming the No. 15 pick in the 2002 NFL Draft.
