Jack Cichy’s draft stock is rising

After an impressive showing at Wisconsin’s pro day last week, former Badgers linebacker Jack Cichy is among several players that are seeing their NFL draft stock increasing, according to Pro Football Weekly’s Adam Hoge.

In his latest recruiting notebook, Jesse Temple recaps a big junior day last weekend for Wisconsin, the latest scholarship offers and how current commits are excelling in track and field.

Jonathan Taylor expanding his game

Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor had more than 2,000 total yards in 2017, but nearly all of that came on the ground. Now, according to Jason Galloway of the Wisconsin State Journal, Taylor is looking to expand his game and become a better receiver.

Flashy catch by Wisconsin WR

Wisconsin’s offense stole the show during practice on Tuesday. That included 4 touchdown catches during team drills by wide receiver Jack Dunn, the most notable being this one-handed grab.

Alex Hornibrook keeps working

While most players went home for winter break after the Orange Bowl, Wisconsin quarterback Alex Hornibrook headed to California for a bit to work with George Whitfield, a respected quarterback coach. It’s the second year in a row that the Badgers’ starter spent time training at Whitfield Athletix.

Costly ticket for Iowa game

If you’re planning to go Wisconsin’s game at Iowa on Sept. 22, be prepared to pay a hefty price. The Hawkeyes unveiled their single-game ticket prices, and it’ll cost $95 to see the Badgers at Kinnick Stadium. It’s tied with the Iowa State game for the highest-priced ticket and likely to cost a lot more on the secondary market.

Another year for Patrick Johnson

Though listed as a junior on Wisconsin’s roster, safety Patrick Johnson most likely has three years of eligibility remaining. That’s because the Badgers have applied for a medical hardship waiver for Johnson after an injury ended his 2017 season just four games in. It’s expected the waiver will be granted.

Joe Thomas near tears in retirement speech

After 11 seasons with the Cleveland Browns, former Badgers All-American Joe Thomas retired. In a press conference on Monday, the future Hall of Fame left tackle was near tears when explaining why he was walking away.
