Fox Sports’ college football analyst Joel Klatt believes the No. 1 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft is already a done deal.
Klatt was in Los Angeles to witness USC quarterback Sam Darnold’s pro day and the Fox Sports analyst walked away extremely impressed.
“He had, I would say one of the best pro days I’ve seen in a long time,” Klatt said on Fox Sports. “Coming away from [Wednesday] and this is the earliest I’ve said this in the process, the New York Giants are on the clock because I think the No. 1 pick was totally solidified [Wednesday].”
Darnold is a popular choice to go No. 1 overall in mock draft but the No. 1 pick is hardly a lock. The Cleveland Browns own the first pick in the draft. Cleveland could pick Darnold, the team could go with UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen or the top player on most draft boards Penn State running back Saquon Barkley.
We’ll all find out who Cleveland picks No. 1 overall on April 26.
