How Alabama’s commitments fared in their high school games: Week 6

Alabama’s commitments took the field for Week 6 of Friday nights under the lights.

The Crimson Tide currently have 11 commitments in their 2018 recruiting class and three in their 2019 group. Members of both classes enjoyed memorable performances this past week.

SEC Country will provide weekly updates on each Alabama commitment, including statistics and highlights.

Here’s what went down Week 6 (Sept. 29-Oct. 1):

2018 commits

Jalyn Armour-Davis, 4-star CB, St. Paul’s Episcopal (Mobile, Ala.)

St. Paul’s was on a bye week. Jalyn Armour-Davis visited Tuscaloosa on Saturday for Alabama’s game against Ole Miss.

Jarrett Bell, 3-star C/G, Norco (Calif.)

Norco defeated Chino Hills 45-0. Jarrett Bell helped pave the way for Norco to rack up 530 yards of offense.

Slade Bolden, 3-star ATH, West Monroe (La.) 

Slade Bolden continued to shine as he helped lead West Monroe to a 27-7 win over Neville. Bolden, who plays quarterback for his team, passed for 129 yards and rushed for 70 yards while scoring 2 touchdowns.

Tommy Brown, 4-star T, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.)

Mater Dei was on a bye week.

Jordan Davis, 4-star Jack, Southwind (Memphis, Tenn.)

Southwind lost 28-20 to Munford (Ala.). In the loss, Jordan Davis had 7 tackles, 5 of them for a loss, and a fumble recovery. Davis visited Tuscaloosa on Saturday for the Tide’s game against the Rebels.

Skyler Delong, 3-star P, Nation Ford (Fort Mill, S.C.)

Nation Ford defeated Clover 38-27 and is now 3-3 on the season.

Vernon Jackson, 3-star ATH, Boling (Boling, Texas)

Boling shutout Danbury 40-0. Vernon Jackson had 84 yards and 3 touchdowns on 12 carries. Jackson visited Texas A&M on Saturday for the Aggies’ game against South Carolina.

Cameron Latu, 4-star Jack, Olympus (Salt Lake City)

Olympus lost 38-21 to Highland.

Quay Walker, 4-star LB, Crisp County (Cordele, Ga.)

Crisp County lost its first game of the season as Brooks County defeated the Cougars 31-21. Quay Walker, who was originally expected to visit Alabama this weekend, visited Auburn.

Xavier Williams, 4-star WR, Chaminade-Madonna (Hollywood, Fla.)

Chaminade-Madonna had an Alabama-esque performance over the weekend with its 52-0 win over Piper. Xavier Williams had 3 receptions, 88 yards and a touchdown.

Stephon Wynn Jr., 4-star DE, IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)

IMG Academy defeated Miami Northwestern 21-0. Stephon Wynn is a backup defensive lineman for the Ascenders.

2019 commits

Deyavie Hammond, 4-star G, IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)

IMG Academy defeated Miami Northwestern 21-0.

Pierce Quick, 4-star T, Hewitt-Trussville (Trussville, Ala.)

Hewitt-Trussville also had an Alabama-esque performance as it had a 59-0 win. The Huskies offense had 399 yards against Center Point.

Trey Sanders, 4-star RB, IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)

Trey Sanders had a 12-yard rushing touchdown in IMG’s 21-0 win over Miami Northwestern.
