Take 5
Iowa football starts spring practice on Wednesday. Land of 10 compiled a list of five
players the Hawkeyes need to have a big March and April. Wide receivers could have comprised the entire list, but other
positions and players, like the offensive line and tackle Tristan Wirfs, need to be highlighted too.
The more you know
HawkeyeNation.com’s Rob Howe put together a good primer on the Iowa
defense in advance of spring practice. He takes a stab at predicting the starting 11. Projecting the linebackers is harder
than it looks.
A championship-esque run
Nationals didn’t go perfectly for Iowa wrestling, but it was close. Spencer Lee took home a national title and the
Hawkeyes came in third. The Des Moines Register’s Cody Goodwin looks at the highlights.
Getting back on track
HawkeyeNation.com’s David Schwartz wrote about former Iowa linebacker Bob Diaco and why Hawkeyes fans should root
for him to succeed as he moves to Oklahoma as a defensive analyst. After his stint as the Nebraska defensive coordinator,
Diaco needs to rebuild his coaching image.
Sequel topping the original
The Iowa women’s basketball team’s stay in the NCAA Tournament didn’t last as long as the Hawkeyes wanted.
They lost to Creighton in the first round on Saturday. The silver lining is the team should have the chance to get back, and
make a deeper run, next season, as the Des Moines Register’s Dargan Southard explains.
Nearly the entire rotation returns.
Bill Belichick’s man
Former Iowa defensive end Adrian Clayborn is headed to New England. Musket Fire’s Nick Ziegler explains why Clayborn
is a perfect
fit for the Patriots.
