Iowa was driving on Michigan State as the Spartans led 17-7 in the third quarter when QB Nate Stanley scrambled and tried to make something happen. It decidedly did not work out in Iowa’s favor.

The ball slipped as Stanley tried to throw, and Michigan State’s Joe Bachie was able to corral the football before it hit the ground, robbing Iowa of a golden chance to get within one score. It was the 12th play of a drive that had gone 64 yards at that point.
