John Beilein on college basketball corruption: Anyone committing crimes should ‘get the heck out’

Michigan basketball coach John Beilein met with reporters Wednesday, and one of the items he addressed was the corruption scandal that has been the hot topic of college basketball in the last two weeks.

Beilein’s thoughts are pretty clear: Anyone who breaks the law should be out of college basketball. “If people are in our business committing crimes, then get them the heck out,” Beilein said, according to Nick Baumgardner of the Detroit Free Press.

While the sport’s reputation — and plenty of its coaches — suffer from the fallout of the scandal, Beilein has maintained a strong reputation. Earlier in 2017, he was voted the coach most associated with following NCAA rules in an anonymous survey of coaches done by CBS Sports.
