With a trip to the Elite Eight on the line, a pair of Wildcats will meet on Thursday evening.
After notching NCAA Tournament wins over Creighton and University of Maryland, Baltimore Country, Kansas State has a date with Kentucky in the Sweet 16.
It’s safe to say that K-State is especially excited for this unbelievable opportunity, not only because of the blue blood name across the Kentucky jerseys, but with a win, a trip to the school’s 13th overall Elite Eight appearance and first since 2010 awaits.
That excitement was quite apparent in a spine-tingling hype video, one narrated by Kansas State great Ernie “Black Jack” Barrett, who starred for the Wildcats in 1951 when Kansas State fell to Kentucky in the national championship, 68-58.
“This is an unbelievable opportunity in playing against Kentucky.”
“I just want you guys to beware that it’s probably going to be physical; well, like it has been the last two games. And I’m going to be pulling for you three times as much.”
