A career kicking display on Saturday in Kansas State’s 33-20 win over Baylor has earned kicker Matthew McCrane Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Monday.

A senior, McCrane is near the top of the Kansas State record books when it comes to kicking feats, nearly across the board, yet he managed one of his best games as a Wildcat over the weekend.

McCrane converted on all four of his field goal attempts against Baylor, connecting from 37, 21, 49 and 23 yards, including two conversions in the fourth quarter. McCrane’s 4-for-4 display marks the second-best effort in Kansas State history and stands as the third-best performance in college football this season.

Furthermore, McCrane converted all three of his extra points, which made his 15 points scored just a single point shy of setting Kansas State’s single-game school record among kickers.

Now having sent 44 of his 50 career attempts through the uprights, McCrane boasts an 88 percent career field goal percentage, which ranks No. 1 in school history.
