Kickoff time, TV network options revealed for Florida-Texas A&M

The No. 21 Florida Gators will play Texas A&M on Saturday, Oct. 14, at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium with the kickoff set for either 3:30, 7 or 7:15 p.m. ET.

The game will be televised on either CBS, ESPN or ESPN2, it was announced Monday.

The final decision on the kickoff time and TV network will be made by Saturday night.

That will be the third straight home game for the Gators, who are 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the SEC heading into a clash with LSU this week.

Texas A&M (4-1, 2-0) has won four straight games since a heartbreaking season-opening 45-44 loss at UCLA. Before they can worry about Florida, though, the Aggies play host to top-ranked Alabama this week.

As for the Gators, they’ve recovered from their own season-opening setback to follow with dramatic, last-second wins over Tennessee and Kentucky and a 38-24 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday.

But nothing has come easy. Florida has made an in-game quarterback change in three of its first four games, including losing Luke Del Rio to a season-ending collarbone injury on Saturday.

That reinserted redshirt freshman Feleipe Franks, who finished the game 10-of-14 passing for 185 yards.

Franks had been up and down while starting the first three games of the season, twice getting pulled in the third quarter. But he’ll be the Gators’ quarterback moving forward.

Most encouraging was the performance of Florida’s ground game, which totaled 218 yards and 5 touchdowns. Freshman Malik Davis led the way with 124 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns while sophomore Lamical Perine added 58 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Aggies are led by running back Trayveon Williams (384 rushing yards, 5 touchdowns) and have turned to freshman quarterback Kellen Mond (808 passing yards, 6 touchdowns, 2 interceptions).

Looking ahead to the matchup, the Gators have won their only SEC matchup with Texas A&M, 20-17 in 2012. Florida leads the all-time series 2-1, and this is only the second ever meeting in Gainesville with the other coming 1962.
