Kirk Herbstreit offered kind words for injured Florida quarterback Luke Del Rio.

On Monday, the noted ESPN analyst gave well-wishes on Twitter to Del Rio, who sustained a season-ending collarbone injury in the Gators’ victory against Vanderbilt last Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Classy move from Herbstreit, for sure.

Del Rio’s injury was a tough break for him. He received the start for the Gators’ game against the Commodores on Saturday afternoon at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. However, he left the game after being driven into the turf late in the second quarter. As relayed by SEC Country’s Ryan Young, Florida coach Jim McElwain said Del Rio was done for the season.

Del Rio, a junior, completed 7 of 11 passes for 64 yards against Vanderbilt before leaving with the injury. After throwing for 1,358 yards with 8 touchdowns and 8 interceptions last season, he completed 16 of 25 passes for 138 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception in two games this year.
