Land of 10 Power Poll: Big Ten team rankings after Week 5

big ten-rankings-poll

Penn State’s 31-point win against Indiana was more than enough for the Nittany Lions to keep 13 first-place votes for the new Land of 10 Power Poll.

Yet again, Penn State (5-0) has all 13 No. 1 voters this week. The Nittany Lions are also the Big Ten’s highest-ranked team in the AP Poll and Coaches Poll at No. 4. nationally.

The top four remain unchanged: Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin. After that, however, there are major changes. Maryland is a big mover, going from No. 9 to No. 5 after beating previously undefeated Minnesota on the road.

Michigan moved up even more than the Terrapins. One week after losing by 20 points at home to Notre Dame, the Spartans beat Iowa, 17-10. Thanks to the win, Michigan State went from No. 11 all the way up to No. 6. The Spartans have another opportunity to impress voters this week, too, as they get Michigan.
