Legendary Alabama coach Gene Stallings reportedly on ventilator after serious heart attack

Former Alabama coach Gene Stallings is reportedly being cared for in a Dallas-area hospital and is on a ventilator after suffering a serious heart attack on Friday.

Rick Karle, sports director at FOX6 WBRC-TV in Birmingham, Ala., posted the unfortunate news via Facebook on Monday.

The Facebook post reads:

“Please pray for Coach Gene Stallings! Coach had a serious heart attack last Friday night and has since been transferred from a Paris, Texas Hospital to a Dallas-area hospital.

“Doctors are optimistic today as they hope to wean the coach from his ventilator. Coach has been hanging tough through two strokes and now this. Coach Stallings’ wife Ruth Ann and family members are with him at this hour. Watch this space for updates. Please keep the coach in your heart!”
