After getting dismantled 41-0 at home by Georgia, Tennessee fans will probably need to get accustomed to opposing fans poking fun at their teams.

However, when Vol fans think of those that might have a joke or two about Butch Jones ready to go, they’re probably picturing Alabama or Kentucky fans. They’re probably not thinking about tiny, in-state Carson-Newman University.

But after Saturday, perhaps they should be, as the Carson-Newman Athletics Twitter account threw some shade at the Vols on Saturday, noting that they were able to do what Tennessee could not: beat a top 25 team:

As Tennessee was being throttled by Georgia, Carson-Newman was pulling an upset victory over no. 23 in the Division II rankings, Catawba College, winning 31-18 at home.

Needless to say, this adds some insult to injury for the Vols during a day where there was already plenty of both.
