Traveling for its first road series of 2018, LSU takes on Vanderbilt this weekend fresh off an SEC slate opening series win over Missouri. Not to be outdone, Vanderbilt is coming off a sweep of Mississippi State in Starkville, Miss., and are ranked No. 5 nationally in the Collegiate Baseball poll.

The game Friday will be a matchup between two aces. LSU will send sophomore Zack Hess to the mound, looking to expand on his impressive 42 strikeouts in 28.1 innings pitched. Vanderbilt will counter with sophomore Drake Fellows, who is one of 12 starting pitchers in the SEC with a sub-2.00 ERA (1.91) and more than 20 innings pitched.
